  • PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:

    Design a system that uses J1850 communications and is flash loadable. This controller uses hall sensors to sense shifter position and send this position to the transmission of the vehicle.

  • DESIGN APPROACH:

    This project was based off an 68HC08 microcontroller. All of the code was written in the "C" programming language with some modules written in assemble language.

  • PROJECT RESULTS:
    		•
    The product was very well received in the field. It provided "fly by wire" method of receiving user information from the shifter control. This design had to pass all of the automotive safety requirements.
