It is the policy of OMNI Engineering Services Inc. not to disclose customer names and/or proprietary details of projects without the client's release to do so.

For this customer, OMNI was asked to provide a custom hardware and software automated industrial solution for filling barges. This was a retrofit of the existing hard-wired solution.
The primary requirement of this project is to minimize/replace the wires necessary for remote control on the opposite side of a heavily traveled road while maintaining a reliable control system.
The only other system requirements are that the system should be able to be controlled from three separate locations, and fall within strict budgetary figures.
As always, it is OMNI's goal to maintain the highest level of operator safety in all modes of system operation.

OMNI chose a DeviceNet network of MicroLogix PLC's to eliminate unnecessary wiring across the oradway and fall within the customer's budget.

The project met all customer expectations.
