The customer requested replacement and upgrading of the control system operating their Hochland cold roll cheese processing equipment and Benhil sliced cheese wrapping equipment. One control system using PLC's was designed and installed to control two process cheese production lines. Each production line required closed loop control of the cheese pump speed to allow proper quantity of cheese for precise cheese layering on the cold rollers. Each production line had it's own user interface panel. Temperature controls with infrared and thermocouple input transducers were used to control cheese temperatures and cutting wire temperatures. Motor control was accomplished using analog output devices to control VFD's which in turn controlled the motor speeds.

The control system operated successfully and provided the control as requested by the customer.
